In addition to Dr. Majid AlSadi’s vast business interests and hectic daily work schedule, his philanthropic campaign of helping the less privileged through Her Majesty, Queen Rania’s Madrasati Initiative, the Majid Alsadi Scholarship Foundation at Coventry University and the Mineseeker Foundation, to name a few, reflects his deep affection for humanitarian work. It also reflects the integrity of the man at the helm of Eastern, who wants to give back to society and make a difference in the lives of so many.

“Madrasati (My School) is an initiative about repairing and restoring schools to make them safer, brighter, better equipped, and more inspiring learning environments.”
(Her Majesty Queen Rania)

Eastern Holding’s CEO, Dr. Majid AlSadi, is the proud sponsor of two of Queen Rania’s Madrasati Initiative schools. It is our aim to make these schools a learning hub where the students will find the tools and education needed to come into their full potential. We want to create in the students enthusiasm and excitement to see their school as a place where they get educated and have fun. Therefore we at Eastern Holding have implemented a Monthly Educational Initiative to assist in the support of building a strong, positive relationship with all the people at the school who play a role in educating the students, and who make the classroom a positive experience that will impact the child’s academic growth and social skills. We are also implementing a program where the students, teachers and parents will join in discussions relating to family life. Social topics might include everyday issues that are an obstacle in the life of the children and the welfare of the community.

Majid AlSadi Scholarship Foundation

In 2007 Coventry University launched the Majid AlSadi Scholarship Foundation.

This foundation targets international post-graduate students, who do not have the financial means to further educate themselves and move their careers to a higher level.

Funding for the Scholarship is being made available by Dr. Majid AlSadi, a PhD alumni in Mechanical Engineering from Coventry University, who recently also received an honorary doctorate degree from the university in acknowledgement for his achievements and entrepreneurial skills.

In July 2009, the first students who benefited from this Scholarship, graduated from Coventry University.

Students are selected on the basis of academic merit and will be notified by Coventry University once the election process has been completed.

Students Comments:

"Respected Dr Majid Alsadi, Things we do in life often have tangible results but the extent of their impact is often difficult to measure. For past couple of years, I had a dream of pursuing Master’s Degree in a Foreign University. I am honored to receive a scholarship from The Majid Alsadi Scholarship Foundation. I would like to thank you for your generosity in regards to this award. By awarding the scholarship, you have not only eased my financial burden but equally important, if not more so, also given me an opportunity to realize my lifelong dream. Upon graduating from Coventry University with a Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering in 2008, I joined Altair Engineering Inc. Bangalore, India. Altair is a leading global provider of technology that strengthens client innovation. It serves a large majority of Fortune 500 companies and more than 3,000 clients in broad range of industries. My role as a Support Specialist is to provide solutions to the technical queries put in by the clients. My learning experience at the Coventry University has enabled me to get a thorough understanding of the concepts of automotive engineering, by virtue of which I feel confident of handling the technical queries put to me. All of this was not possible without the financial aid that you provided me, in the pursuit of my Master's degree at Coventry University. I look forward that someday I would be able to support students as you do today. Thank you once again for your generous support.” Sincerely"

The Mineseeker Foundation was created to find and deploy new technologies in landmine detection and then facilitate the rehabilitation of land and people affected by landmines, by providing both with sustainable programmes and prosthetic limbs through the Sole of Africa and Africa’s Got Legs projects.

Mineseeker has welcomed on board Dr. Majid AlSadi, CEO and Chairman of Eastern Holding, who joins their elite list of patrons which includes founder patron Nelson Mandela (now retired), Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, Sir Richard Branson, Dame Graca Machel, Lord Attenborough, Brad Pitt and John Paul DeJoria.

The landmine problem is not getting any better – with estimates of over 100 million mines still below the surface of the earth and someone treading on one every 19 minutes, usually a woman or a child, it is still a major man-made problem that causes devastation to thousands of victims,” added Mike Kendrick, the CEO and founder of Mineseeker.

Dr. AlSadi is already bringing new ideas to attract funding that will allow us to deploy the new technology that can finally rid the planet of this terrible threat to civilians”.

Whilst Dr. AlSadi, as a patron, will provide funding for the foundation and its projects, of more significance is his expertise and entrepreneurship that will drive joint venture partnerships and fundraising business opportunities.”
