The IBC recently held a general assembly meeting in which new board members was elected and a new agenda was implemented. The new board consists of 13 members and Dr. Majid AlSadi was unanimously re-elected as President of the Council. Mr. Mahmud al-Kashtini and Mr. Jalal AlQaaud was re-elected as Vice-Presidents and Mr. Saad Najji as the General Secretary of the Council. The meeting was attended by various members of the Council, including representatives of the media and other different supportive organizations.
 
The IBC was established in late 2006 and provides a forum for Iraqi businessmen to exchange collaborative views and ideas and to share trade information and work together to provide business opportunities through trade and social missions and to identify investment opportunities between the Republic of Iraq and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.   Also, the IBC collaborates with the Jordanian Ministerial Committee to help the Iraqi business community and further develop Iraq-Jordan economic relations.
